Mudgee Team Training Village has celebrated a standout first year of operation, hosting five of the NRL’s top ten performing clubs and some of Australia’s leading sporting organisations.
Since opening in mid-2025, the Village has welcomed the Penrith Panthers, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, South Sydney Rabbitohs, Sydney Roosters and Manly Warringah Sea Eagles – all in the top ten leaderboard and vying for the 2026 NRL Telstra Premiership.
The facility has also hosted NRLW teams, Touch Football Australia, NSW Rugby, the Waratahs, Football NSW and the NSW Swifts, as well as departments of the NSW Government, corporates and a number of elite universities and secondary schools.
Located within Mudgee’s renowned Glen Willow Sporting Precinct, the purpose-built Village provides accommodation for up to 106 people, training, recovery, medical and meeting facilities in one location.
Owned and operated by Mid-Western Regional Council, Mayor Des Kennedy said the calibre of organisations using the facility in its first year was a major achievement for the region.
“To have five NRL clubs choose the Mudgee Team Training Village in its first year is a tremendous endorsement of the facility and the experience our region can provide,” Cr Kennedy said.
“These teams have placed their trust in Mudgee to provide the facilities, service and environment they need to prepare and perform at the highest level.
“The Village is helping establish Mudgee as one of regional New South Wales’ leading destinations for professional sporting camps, while also supporting major events and bringing valuable visitation to local businesses.
“It is a facility our community can be extremely proud of, and this is only the beginning, with bookings for 2027 already filling up fast. More than half of our first-time guests have rebooked.”
The Penrith Panthers celebrated the first-year anniversary with Village staff this week ahead of their sold-out blockbuster NRL Telstra Premiership Round 22 game against the Canberra Raiders at Club Mudgee Stadium on Saturday (1 August).
Mudgee Team Training Village was a three-tier of government project with $7.2 million in grant funding from the NSW Government, $2.7 million from the Australian Government and $6.2 million from Council.
